BRIEF In this project we are challenged to explore disparate information in an interesting way as a user/consumer. We are tasked to create a guide in two formats; a larger, folded guide and a small leave-behind accordion booklet. With this, we also have to create an app prototype alongside.

APPROACH In a world of malls and online shopping, it’s easy to forget how much we actually consume. Thrift It strives to inform consumers of the actions we take and it’s effect on the Earth and how we can give a second life to objects in a fun and trendy way to lessen our environmental footprint.

SOLUTION I began to do research on what it means to thrift and the benefits behind it. I decided to do my accordion booklet on this, to try and persuade the viewer to thrift while my map and guide was for those already interested. Because my target audience were trendy college students on a budget with lots of time, I decided to go for a more funky look to the system. This is shown through the cut out vintage images done in halftone and a bright orange color that is greatly emphasized throughout.
